MISSION STATEMENT:

 

In the spirit of family and sharing special times in our lives with our friends and loved ones we wanted to provide a special place to gather with family and friends.  A place for community and businesses to hold special events and meetings in a unique atmosphere with a variety of options under one roof.

 

Music and the arts has been a part of our lives for many years.  We wanted to provide a venue for local  & regional talents to perform and share these wonderful talents with  the community to experience a musical and theatrical experiences in a intimate setting.  Please support their talents by enjoying our shows!.

 

OUR STORY:

 

I have been a musician for more than 30 years playing drums for all types of music &  venues  and drumming in various recording studios thru the years with artists on their original projects.   My wife took lessons for violin and piano as a child  and her family have been playing music for enjoyment for years at family reunions and church thoughout her lifetime.   Music and lessons was a very big part of their family life and that has passed on to our son and daughter.  Our daughter plays violin and alittle guitar and our son has also become a great musician, songwriter, music teacher and sound & light engineer so we wanted to  create a place like I would have wanted as a youth growing up in a small town or as an adult today.  He works here with us giving lessons and doing repairs, helping with lights and sound and various duties at The Lighthouse Theatre & Event Center and Marshall Street Music located right here at 621 Marshall St. in Albert Lea, MN. 

 

We had a  chance to buy the Weslyian Methodist Church in Albert Lea and start a recording studio first and then added the event center and theatre series.   Then the local music store in town  closed that we worked at and there was a plea from many of my loyal customers to start a music store here so that is what we  opened up Marshall Street Music here in 2011 with a full music store including P.A. Rental and Music Lessons and music seminars.
